This ferro rod feels good in your hand, use your favorite striker to scrape showers of sparks to easily start your fire. It measures 6 inches long and 3/8" in diameter. Use a piece of metal that is harder than the ferro rod. The piece of metal must have a 90 degree edge, a piece of hack saw blade, the back of your bushcraft knife will do the job. The ferro rod has a black protective coating that must be removed before starting your fire.
